Introducing - Devo!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce to you all a special little guy who has won my heart.
He is a kind, gentle and loving soul who had a rough time in his early days. He is shy and weary of strangers but warms to friends very quickly, and I am yet to meet any person who is not absolutely bowled over by his gorgeous almond shaped eyes and aloof nature.
He has lived with me for almost 2 years now, and in that time, he has progressed in leaps and bounds - from the day many months ago when I first saw that little tail wagging to greet me, to todays little fella romping in the yard with his friends and down at the park making new ones.
This little snobby supermodel enjoys a good brie, as well as tender cuts of meat and the occasional tomato freshly picked from the vine.
This little fella - ladies and gentlemen - is Devo and he knows what to do when a problem comes along.

We're not in Kansas anymore
An exercise in cut-out and colouring - blue denim and killer red heels. Someone better tell Toto we left Kansas a long time ago...

A splash of colours
There are some beautiful plantings of bamboo around Brisbane, and they get absolutely HUGE in this climate!
This is my favourite variety - Bambusa vulgaris.

The changing of the seasons
The second day of March... the changing of the seasons, the onset of slow times and long nights.
Some of the trees are already starting to change the colours of their leaves.
Most people will think me crazy for bringing this up, as forecasts for the week have every day up in the low to mid 30's, (yesterday got to 36!) but its going to start getting cold again soon - I can feel it!!

The end of an era
I sold Cherry today. Im feeling pretty sad about it - Cherry was the most fun car I think I will ever own. I learnt to drive manual in Cherry, I learnt to fix cars (well, volksies) with Cherry, and I met some really cool people in the VW scene with Cherry.
I had the most fun ever driving Cherry.
I had my first ever published photo - and it was Cherry.
This is that photo. It was included in the 2005 Aussieveedubbers calendar.
She has basically spent the last 3 years sitting in my parents carport - waiting for me to have the time to fix her up... the restoration I had planned was going to be classic, low and fast.
Sometimes, plans just dont go according to plan.
Sometimes, you realise you just aren't old enough to have a 'toy'
And sometimes, you have to let go and make room for the future.
In a few months, i'll get a new VW polo diesel - a red one. I think I already have a name for her.

Introducing: Beau - The coolest dog in the whole world!
This little fella is Beau. He is a mini foxie (fox terrier) and is a dog of many talents - about as many as he has names.
He answers to any of the following names: Beau, Boo-boo, Foo-foo, Goo-goo, Googz, Foogz, Boogz, Googzy boy, Little Foo, Nook-nook boy.
He has the following talents: Excellent soccer control skills with balls, Can catch a ball from the air or snap it straight back to you, Killer of flies and especially fly swatters, Donuts - especially for Tyson ('cos it makes him laugh. A lot.) Eater of the salad and not the meat from your sandwich. Very talkative on car rides. Best little snuggler in the whole world and particularly good at giving hundreds of kisses when you are feeling down.
He is the most wonderfully social little dog, as long as you are human. Hes a big dog snob, which is sad as dogs seem to love him to bits!
When he was a puppy, Mum would stick him in the pocket of her sundress and go hang out the washing, with this tiny little puppy peering out of her pocket over his tiny little paws. He was best friends with our neighbours cat, Bobbi, and they would jump all over the yard chasing grasshoppers.
Little Beau is almost 15 years old now... he is winding down and mellowing out in his old age, but still enjoys playing for hours when my sister and I go to mum and dads to visit. The little energizer puppy still lives in him, it just chills out until we come over.

Snakesssssss...
We have had a carpet python hanging around the kitchen and backyard for 3 days now. Its docile, about 3m long and extremely pretty. I think its trying to make a meal of the rat that as been hanging around the laundry.
So, in celebration of sharing our home with a new reptilian interloper (which has been named "monty") I have decided to bring out the snakeys...
This is one of the first photos of Lazarus, an inland carpet python. Most people would think he was named after that biblical character which rose from the dead... He was actually named after the rugby player, whos picture he was curled up around when he was taken home from the breeder.
Hes almost 2 meters long now. He loves curling around beers and getting tangled in my dreadlocks.
